In the Still Of the Night

A lot of people pine for country living, citing the quiet & peace as chief among their reasons.
These people have likely never been in this part of the country! Once Winter breaks & spring finally takes hold, the reality is that there is only blissful silence for about 2 hours out of 24 (between 3 & 5 am). The other 22 hours of the day is constant audio stimulation - & it is LOUD.
This video clip was recorded @ a nearby bird & wildlife sanctuary.
Turn up your speakers until you think to yourself, "Holy Crap on a Cracker -that is really LOUD."
Welcome to the Interlake.

  1. Very loud...and beautiful. There's no better sound as nature uninterrupted by machines.

  3. Oh yes...frogs galore around here. Frogs, different kinds, coyotes at night, other dogs barking, horses neighing or screaming if their buddy is being ridden, geese making sounds, cicadas, crickets, birds and more birds....yeah country isn't quiet but it's a lovely peace in it's own busy way. Well, there is the occasional tractors since them pastures have to get mowed!! LOL

    1. I think the country is noisy, but I love the quality of the noise rather better than in town.
