We Need Silence

"We need to find God, & He cannot be found in noise & restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon & the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls."  ~Mother Teresa

  1. This is sooo beautiful...and so me. I don't do brick buildings, big cities, or in your face chaos, very well. Nature is my happy nurturing place. If only the world could learn from natures harmony...

  2. Beautiful! We could all use that sentiment in this environment we're in right now. I agree with aurora that the world could learn from natures harmony.

    1. In particular, I can think of one orange man who could use a prolonged period of absolute silence & I'm pretty sure the rest of the planet would be thankful.
Seriously? Isn't there a make-up professional to make sure he DOESN'T look orange with panda eyes? Very disturbing.

  3. Such a great quote. I think that's why I love mornings so well in the garden..silence! Well except for the deer munching on my beans.

    1. You need a dog Vickie - it's a very rare dog that will eat straight from your garden, but even a housedog will make enough fuss to keep away the deer.

  4. I like silence, but there's little of it from either political side, and I'm quite sick of it all. I blame the MSM--they harp on day and night, 24/7, even creating false drama where none exists. I was out of range of everything last weekend and missed all the news. It was quite nice...until I came back.

    1. I don't watch the news anymore... on purpose.
I like silence - the 4Shoes is the perfect place to forget about all that mess. Buzzing of insects, birdsong, the soft whisper of breeze talking through the leaves, the occasional moo or whinny.... this all still counts as peaceful silence to me.
