World Views

My favourite view of the world is
the one that I see between his ears.

  1. Hey, that's my favorite world view, too! Love your ear masks!

    1. Haha, common likes among horsey folk.
My mom made the fly bonnets; she measured for ear length on my aunts TWHs, which apparently have ears like mules, but the little extra room in there doesn't seem to bother my Morgan horses.

    1. Serenity NOW! (obscure Seinfeld reference). Haha
Seriously though, that's absolutely why my butt is in the saddle so much! My happy place.

  5. All my men in view is my favorite. But since we live in Berlin I just get the three hairy ones. It's too far out for Alexander. I like the view of the landscape makes me curious ...

    1. It seems that others also like these glimpses of the farm, so I will oblige with some more trail photos (no need to twist my rubber arm). This was taken on a path mowed through a meadow that heads to what we call 'The Bottom'. Because it's been very dry this year we have been able to access areas that are not passable in wet years -- MB is called the land of a thousand lakes, so even in a "dry" year, it is not really dry except for the surface. We have had only a few rains this year, yet you can see that meadow hay is thriving despite it.

    1. I find even the pictures put me back in the moment of that ride - maybe I hear birdsong or insects buzzing in my head, or seem to catch a gust of winter on a sunny day - just by looking at a photo.

  7. Did you just hear a huge sigh? That was me! It' been too long since I've had that view. This is the first time I've ever seen ear cozies!

    1. It's a view I hope I can still see so long as I live - My Granny rode well into her 80's, my auntie rides 2 horses a day in her late eighties right now.
The bonnets keep the flies from bothering their ears (& less head tossing); my mom made them for us.
